With 2010 being a time of change, we are changing some things about our Annual Dinner & Awards Celebration, like the date, the place, the menu and the Sponsorship opportunities.
You are invited to the March 17th Annual Dinner & Awards Celebration at beautiful White Pines Inn outside of Mt. Morris. We start at 5:30 pm with cocktails and an hors d’oeuvre buffet, with awards and dessert to follow.
Along the way, we’ll celebrate in an Irish way (It is St. Patty’s Day, after all!), bid on silent auction items, and meet new business owners to find out what they have to offer. PLUS, you’ll have the chance to purchase raffle tickets to win a fabulous dinner and show at the Pines!
We managed to keep ticket prices at $35 each so you can treat your great employees.

Not only a new year and new decade but our 60th annual antique show. Besides the beginning of our flegling show, here are some other events that happened in 1951. Dragnet airs on television for the first time; Dick Button wins American figure skating championship for the 4th time; Dennis the Menace carton strip appears and the I Love Lucy sitcom premieres. The average wage was $3500 per year, a new house cost $9000 and unemployment was 3.3%. We listened to Perry Como, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole. Those were the "good ole days".
The Oregon Woman's Club, a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs and a non-profit organization, sponsors this show as a major fund raising event and uses the proceeds to help fund various community projects and charities.
This year the show will again be held at the Blackhawk Center Sports Arena, located on the Oregon public school campus. The facility offers ample parking, handicap accessibility and a huge area for 50 Midwest antique dealers to display their merchandise for sale. Quality antiques will range from the early 1800's through the retro era of the 1950's including all areas of collecting - furniture, glass, china, pottery, toys, textiles, jewelry, dolls, silver, decorator items and more. You will be amazed at the selection available.
The snack bar sponsored by the Oregon, IL, Kiwanis Club will be brimming with "home-made" sandwiches, soups, desserts and beverages. Mary Lou's Crystal Repair from Joliet, IL, will be on hand both days to repair your damaged heirlooms "while you wait". On Sunday, Munda & Associates, Auctioneers & Appraisers, Freeport, IL, will offer verbal appraisals of your small treasures for $5 per item. Please supply photos of large items. If a writtten appraisal is needed, discuss details with Munda & Associates.
Show times are Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission donation is $5 per person, which is good for both days of the show. Door prize drawing every hour and special grand prize drawing each day of the show.
