Autumn on Parade
The first Saturday and Sunday in October, thousands of visitors
come to Oregon to enjoy the fun and festivities of the annual Autumn
on Parade. Many of the activities and events take place at the Ogle
County Courthouse Square located at the corner of Ill. 64 and Ill.
2 in downtown Oregon.
Autumn on Parade features a Farmer's Market, with homemade items
from over 100 vendors, plenty of live entertainment, a variety of
food, and the ever popular Harvest Time Parade, which is held on
Sunday afternoon.
Highlights of the festival include:
Olde English Faire
Stronghold Castle hosts the Olde English Faire (including tours
of the castle) throughout the weekend.
Harvest Time Parade
If you love a parade, you'll love ours. Marching bands, clowns,
and plenty of other entertainment all at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Fun-A-Rama
A petting zoo and rides for kids make this a special treat for youngsters.
Family Fun
Try to find the Pennies in the Straw or compete in the Milking Derby.
Duck Dash
Spend $5 and see if your rubber duck can be the first to race down
the Rock River to win you a prize.
Auto Classic
Autos, trucks, and motorcycles are displayed at Oregon Park East
across from the Rendezvous encampment. Saturday only.
Tractor Show
See antique tractors and learn about the days of early agriculture
in Ogle County. Sunday only.
Toy and Art Show
The Nash Recreation Center hosts the AOP toy show and high school
art show. Saturday only.
Quilt Show
Antique quilts on display.
Food-A-Rama
Apple fritters, pork chops, lamb sandwiches...they all can be found
at the AOP Food-A-Rama. Booths are run by volunteers from local
non-profit organizations.
